This little giant is a thing of beauty. We bought it to help dry out a damp finished basement due to a blocked AC p-trap. Very quiet at all speeds with Smart Dry auto fan speed feature to save on energy. Stylist in modern/contemporary design which means you could use in a main living area if one so chose. I will probably connect a RV hose to the side when all is back to normal, draining it into our sump. First dehumidifier that i purchased in 30 years, they really have improved from the "old days". Lol! Checked it after 2 hours and it had collected 4 pints or so. Amazing! Thanks GE nice job!

Great product. Small enough it rolls about easily on castors. The auto shut off (turn it on and let it go) works great so no worries about spilling over before you empty it. Very sturdy and feels solid. The handle on the top of the water collection drawer (which is exposed when you begin to pull the drawer out, makes it very easy to carry to your dumping location. The only cautionary comments are (1) it may be too very heavy to lift (for some) so, heft the box in the store before you buy, it you're straining, don't buy it as it won't get lighter at home, (2) when you put it away for storage, make sure you thoroughly wipe out the interior of the compartment where the water capture drawer sits as each time you pull it out to empty, the unit will drip a bit more, perhaps a teaspoon or so and you don't want to store it wet, (3) unless you remove the styrofoam packaging from the box, it won't fit back in once the castors are attached - and they are near impossible to remove - so just add a few pieces of styrofoam back into the box to provide bulk to avoid smashing the power connector cord and you'll be fine to save it for next usage and (4) it can be a little LOUD if you run it in a room where people are; wish it had a lower sound setting for that, but, for garage/basement where you only occasionally are near it, just fine. The castors work well, but, on heavy shag, not so well. You might want to put it on a low tray to keep it from sitting directly on your carpet or wood floors to keep it wandering about on the castors if someone bumps it in passing. These are issues every portable or semi-portable dehumidifier will pretty much have, so, not a big deal really. Great price and it looks pretty nice, too!

Works very well high quality construction lots of good features. Just be aware the unit is very loud. I am sure they all are but for use inside a home it interferes with normal activity like listening or talking and certainly it could disturb sleep if the bedroom is on the same floor as the unit and the door is open. This is perfect for a basement and too loud IMO for a home.

Our home is older and the main bathroom does not have an exhaust vent/fan. We had our bathroom renovated last year, but did not tackle the exhaust project at the time. Our water is a bit hard, so we noticed that the steam from the shower would collect on the walls and drip down. We considered contracting the exhaust project, but someone suggested trying a dehumidifier as a cheaper/effective option. This little rockstar did the trick! Running it before/during/and-a-bit-after showers has completely solved the wall drip issue! And being GE, I trust the brand for longevity (we have another GE Dehumidifer in the basement, and several GE window Air Conditioners!).

This dehumidifier is very good. It is extremely quiet. It would be excellent for a bathroom without a fan. I should have done my homework a little better before I bought it, because I would have bought a bigger unit. I still may do that & use this one on the third floor. I use it right now in a smallish storage area & keep in on medium. Once the majority of moisture is gone, I'll just switch it to Low or to a certain % of moisture I'd like to have there.

20 pint GE dehumidifier

The Assembly of the 20 pint unit was easy, the bucket full with water isn't too heavy to take out and then disposed of. The nice thing is that the air from the exhaust is cool as opposed to warm or hot. The only difficulty was in the store when I had to pick up the box and put it in the cart and then again in my car that was cumbersome. If the Box had an opening for hands on the side that would have been very convenient to move it. The unit itself is easy to roll around the house on a hard floor little slower and requires a little lifting on the carpet, the wheels don't flow or role as easily on carpet. Probably due to the fact that the unit itself is a little heavy for those small Caster wheels. If it's run on low speed the sound is easy to talk over if you need to have a conversation. And even on high it's not that loud. The smart fan part of the unit is a good plus to the evolution of this dehumidifier.

Has bee great so far. Attached the hose with ease, no leaks and will run much of the day. Rather quiet and really takes the humidity out of the air. You do have to remove the bucket to attach the hose with pliers or something for the best seal but this only took a few minutes. Product registration was easy and hoping to not have to use the warranty. Product fits our needs very well at a reasonable price.

It is only the beginning of the summer and it gets very humid in Maryland, so I skeptically purchased this unit to see if it would make a difference. I have only been using this appliance for 11 days in my townhouse on the first level, and so far so good. It fills up twice daily. It has definitely improved the air quality and temperature. If i had known it would operate so well, I would have purchased a larger size. I definitely would like a larger one for my basement level and possibly another unit for the upper bedroom level. I will keep an eye out for a reasonable price/sale, and will most likely invest in the other units in the future if the level of performance continues.
