Unit in a coma

Our GE-AHEKOAC is great when its working properly. But when it get stuck in sleep mode you cannot get it out. Ours is in a coma. We can hear the timer ticking but cannot get it to come on!!! OMG!! We are in Mississippi, it June, and its 98 degrees!!!

We used this product for two summers. Went to install today and the air conditioner runs for 5 secs and then it flashes 88. After researching the issue, we found that it references a bad control Panel signaling the unit is dead. We spent roughly $350 at Lowes. We're disappointed.........

We purchased it in July 2020 and it went out today August 24th 2021. We did not run it during the winter months. We probably got a good seven months out of it. It is the Compressor.I would not recommend. We are one month out of our year warranty.

Fan Noise, Temp Sensing, and App Need Work

Unit cools quite well when running. However, it doesn't seem to be able to accurately sense the temperature of the room unless the fan is continuously running on COOL mode. On ECO it can get stuck with the fan off thinking that the temperature is at or below the setpoint while the room is actually 5+ degrees over the setpoint. What's more, the temperature control is +/- 3 F. Meaning the cooling doesn't kick on until the sensed temperature is 3 F over the setpoint and doesn't turn off until the sensed temperature is 3F under the setpoint. There is no way to adjust this control band. I worked around the sensing issues by creating a IFTTT applet to quickly cycle COOL and ECO modes at the top of the hour if it's been more than 30 minutes since the target temperature was reached. Downside to this is that every time a setting is changed, even remotely, the unit beeps. There is no way to disable this beep. The fan itself is WAY louder than the compressor, even on LOW. So you pretty much have to use ECO mode for some peace and quiet. The Android App needs a lot of work. Constantly waiting on a spinning wheel while "Communicating with Appliance" is super annoying when I just want to see what temperature is being sensed. Also, returning to the Control pane of the app after a while for some reason loads the self help pane instead and you still have to wait through the "Communicating..." message again before it'll let you change anything.

This air conditioner looks fabulous was easy to install and works like a charm. It cools off my whole apartment with the assistance of one fan to blow the cold air into the rest of the rooms. First off this was super easy to put in, not super heavy like older models, it's heavy but not back breaker! I love the WiFi and app feature! I can be out and check on the temp in my living room and adjust it from the app!!! Would recommend this for that reason! So if eco button is on it adjusts temp to outside temp, so if you want it cooler just turn that little button off and there you go!

Doesn't get my room cold!

We've had this a/c for about a week and I hate it.. it doesn't blow out cold air.. I'm dying in the heatwave.. my room size isn't that big it's probably 150sq ft and this should get a room cold that's 500sq ft and so far all I feel is hot air coming out and I have it on the right settings.. I have 4 window air conditioners all energy efficient. Out of the 4 this one is by far the best! It cools great and is quiet. Living in 120 plus heat in AZ it costs a fortune to run my Central Air in this Manufactured home. I have 5000 BTU in bed rooms and this 8000 in den/living room and it keeps it cool even in our sweltering summer heat. I would recommend this to anyone. My electric bills are really low compared to my friends running the big central air.
