I bought this refrigerator and loved the freezer drawers etc. After two years the ice machine stopped functioning. After just less than 5 years the compressor dies. I had a lot of food that had to be thrown out because it was more than a week before it could be fixed. Fortunately it was just before the expiration of the warranty so I did not have to pay for the repair. I really like the model I just wish it didnt break down.

I bought this on sale and it was advertised with a free installation kit. I couldnt get it to work in the checkout and talked to at least 8 reps. before I made the purchase. Most denied the promotion or were just unhelpful and unconcerned. One understood the issue and tried to get it to work but couldnt get it to work on her end either. I bought it to avoid losing the sale and spent many hours after to get the kit without success. They delivered the unit but didnt take the old one away as paid for and I had to reschedule my installation until they came back a week later to get the old one. I hate when people judge on delivery and service issues but it has been a terrible five week experience. I have called emailed text and chatted and the people who staff the customer service know very little and are not interested in trying to problem solve. The dishwasher looks nice but I havent had a chance to use it yet. They keep asking me to review since I should have an opinion five weeks later but it was just installed yesterday

Bad service and Stopped working

It worked great for 4 years and then stopped cooling when we are on vacation. All the items in the refridgerator were spoiled and had to through away everything. LG customeer service wanted a week and half to come and fix it so I had to call someone one else and he told that there is leak inside which couldnot be fixed and when the lg service man came he said he coulsnot fix it because some one else had looked into it before him. I trusted lg brought the whole kitchen set from them and it couldnot even work for 5 years warrantied time and lg is finding loopholes to not fix it

Purchased 5/2018 with 3 year extended warranty through Lowes. Original compressor dies November 2023 and due to class action Compressor and Labor covered to replace. Less than 13 months later the new compressor dies again. REMEMBER this is the NEW compressor yet LG will not cover the labor cost on the NEW COMPRESSOR because the box it went into was bought in 2018... So Class Action issue replace compressor fails in an UNREASONABLE amount of time and I am required to cover the cost of labor to remove something that requires Freon and computer updates which I cannot do myself for something that lasted a year?? Currently this model is 3199 before sale price of 2499 yet I am responsible to maintain an annual repair cost to upkeep this thing 6 years into ownership after losing food both times and not being reimbursed for that? LG lower the price of the fridges if they are throwaway items after 5 years. I was once a fan of LG products TVs Phones and Tablets. EXTREMELY disappointed actively looking for a non-LG model and filed a BBB complaint for this ridiculousness. If this was the ice maker which also needs replacement but not bothering then fine but the only part replaced dies again frustrating.

Good reliability with LG until now

We currently own LG washer and dryer and previously an LG refrigerator. We have bought LG products because of Consumer Reports high rankings for LG products we have purchased their appliances. We gave been completely satisfied with the quality value features and reliability until recently. Our most recent LG purchase quit cooling. The fan motor for the upper part refrigerator stopped. By the time we realized it was not working properly we had to throw away $150 to $250 worth of food. It was a warranty repair but the LG employee/repairman explained that any repair outside of the warranty would be a minimum $400 repair. Now I am concerned with the future reliability and possible future expense of the refrigerator. I have never had a refrigerator have a major cooling failure in 50 years of buying refrigerators. Here hoping this was a rare exception to our previously satisfied ownership of LG products.

I wouldve given this a 4 or 5 star rating but I had this fridge less than a year and had to have the compressor and fans replaced and that took a month to repair and multiple phone calls to LG. Overall the fridge is nice and now that it is fixed we like the fridge. We just wish it made more ice and bigger ice cubes.

To make matters worse the customer service has been incredibly unhelpful and lazy. Every time I reach out it feels like Im just being passed around without any real effort to fix the underlying problem. Its been a disappointing experience overall.

I liked My Older LG Better

The new design of the control panel is terrible. You have to keep switching to ice from water. On the older model you didnt have too. Also it has three drawers which allowed you to open them without opening both doors. Also two freezer drawers mean less space. This new model is made cheaper and cost more. LG also owes me money back as well. They didnt use the installation kit because I already had a stainless steel water because I was replacing a LG refrigerator but charged me anyway.

Worst situation ever

Worked for less than 5 years then after be repaired twice under warranty its broken again . LG decide to refund not the total of course . That store credit was approved and thats suppose will be ready to be use after 24 hours of approve and has been one week and the store credit is still not availed to be use . Thats meant that I haven had the chance to buy a new refrigerator for more almost 3 weeks. Calling everyday to get that refund and nothing . The worst situation ever

This refrigerator failed under warranty. LG had technician come out to repair THREE TIMES and still never got it working. LG Customer Service is a call center in some far away land. Every I called them which was many I was always on the phone for more than 30 minutes... most of that time I was put on hold. The LG customer service about the worst Ive ever experienced. On top of this the LG stove failed just outside of warranty. The LG dishwasher is a terrible performing product. At least the LG microwave still working... knock on wood. Do yourself a favor and stay away from LG

Outstanding Refrigerator

Im really impressed with this refrigerator. Ive had zero issues and thats the way it should be. Only complaint is with the ice maker. If not used regularly the ice has a tendency to thaw slightly and stack up on 1 side. I have to open it and break the stack in order to dispense ice. Other than that its been a great appliance.

We love our refrigerator weve had an issue with the motherboard and now the compressor LG was right on the motherboard at no cost and I am not sure what the compressor will cost yet. But they were very quick to get the repairs moving forward. We never want issues but nice to know they are very supportive when there is an issue.

LG products only lasted me five years

Five years ago I purchased all LG appliances. Worst mistake of my life. Since then Ive had to have my dishwasher repaired at least four times and the whole bottom rack is rusted. As far as my refrigerator. Ive had to have that repaired three times in the most recent right now my compressor has gone on the refrigerator and by the time I could get an appointment its been three weeks now without a refrigerator. LG did cover the compressor but its costing me $600 for the repair. I will never buy an LG product again and have been letting friends and family know.

We bought the full LG line up for our new house and this fridge has been the lemon of the group. There have been multiple repairs even more failures and lots of spoiled food. Even when it did work well we would still need to buy bags of ice because the ice maker could not keep up with our family of four. It did not make it three years. We are very disappointed with it.

Fridge worked great until it didnt. 6 years from purchase date and it stopped cooling. The compressor is done and there is no one in our area that will repair it. I can wait a month for Sears Appliance Repair to charge me $1k to fix a $2k fridge but going without a fridge for a month is unreasonable.

I have just recently had a repair technician out for another time for a repeat problem to replace a part that has already been replaced Insane to think that they would not consider this a lemon and replace the refrigerator by now.
